Funeral Fund

A transparent and fully accountable way to support those in need of help with funeral and burial costs.

What is Funeral Fund?

To create a non-profit association which provides a funding service for the Muslim community of South Manchester to cater for the funeral and burial costs.

 

Objectives 

To cater for the Muslim community of South Manchester by providing a provision of funeral and burial services in accordance with Islamic teachings.

The fund aims to reduce the financial burden of funeral and burial services placed on the family at the time of one's death.

The funeral fund will look to fulfil the following objectives:  

  1.  Providing financial contributions or other relevant assistance with respect to funeral and burial costs of a deceased within one immediate family. The fund is primarily aimed at supporting Muslim families of South Manchester. 

  2. To ease the financial burden on the family who has experienced a loss of a family member.

  3.  Arranging funeral and burial services for any deceased Muslim who had no known relatives or persons known to the deceased while residing in Manchester.

Rules & regulations
  1.  The funding service will cover the cost of the funeral and burial of paying members, their spouses and chlidren under the age of 18.

  2. To become a joining member of the association fund.  The new member will be required to pay a joining fee of £ 100 per adult within the household and £ 5O per child under the age of 18.

  3. Each adult covered under the fund will be required to pay a yearly sum of £ 120 per adult and £ 10 per child under the age of 18, this could be paid in advance for the whole year or on a recurring monthly standing order set up via the bank.

  4.  When a child reaches the age of 18, they would not be covered under the paying member household and would need to become a paying member.  

  5. The association will cover the cost of a deceased member to be transported to a location of the family's choice upon death e.g. the association paying for the flight cost of a deceased to be buried in Manchester while abroad or vice versa.

  6. A member and their dependants will only be eligible for funding contributions from the association after being a paying member for at least 6 months.

  7.  A member will be removed from the association if in arrears of more than 6 months and will not be eligible for any financial contributions.

  8. Any member who wishes to leave the association will not be entitled to a refund.

  9. Members who pass away in Pakistan will be given £ 1000.00.

  10.  Spouses of members who relocate from abroad e.g. from Pakistan will be granted Free cover for 30 days and then must become members, paying their joining fees.
